Sunnycrest Nursing Home is located in Whitby, Ontario (east of Toronto) and is licensed and regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. We have achieved an "Accredited" status, as awarded by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, at each review since our first in 1984. We have been under the direction of the same owners since 1967 and have seen the expansion to two, three-story wings accommodating 136 residents in basic ward (4 beds), semi-private (2 beds), and private (1 bed) rooms. Two of our beds are dedicated to short stay residents. In addition, we have a limited number of respite/vacation beds with full nursing care offered at reasonable daily rates to be utilized for temporary placement where Caregivers need respite or a vacation; for medical emergencies; and for recovery from illness. We are proud members of the Ontario Long-Term Care Association.

Sunnycrest is located on the south side of Dundas street (Highway #2) at the first traffic lights east of Thickson Road. We have local and GO bus service at the front of the property. Shopping, schools and parks are all within walking distance.

Residents enjoy our large wheelchair accessible horticultural patio and gardens. We have an on-site beauty salon, a tuck shop and a craft/activities room. Interest and stimulation is essential to our everyday living and is challenged with life enrichment spiritual, recreational and rehabilitative programs.

Our Mission - Sunnycrest is a well-established long-term care home which excels in providing a caring, home-like environment for our residents and their families.

Our vision - That the community recognize Sunnycrest as providers of excellent resident care, and educators of staff and families.
